Opal Reflexology offers a range of Reflexology treatments, carefully designed to restore and rebalance your health and wellbeing with strong focus on stress reduction. From the Traditional Foot Reflexology, Pregnancy and Crystal Reflexology, to the luxurious Zone Face Lift and Facial Cupping, each treatment is all about you and what you need that day.
Ivona Gongolova (MAR) is the Director and practitioner at Opal Reflexology, and is a fully qualified, registered and insured clinical Reflexologist.
About Me
Hello, I’m Ivona and a warm welcome to my website. I am a fully qualified reflexologist and a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR).
The style of Reflexology I practice is gentle and restorative and encourages the body to sink into a deep rest and repair mode . The treatments are incredibly effective as they can bring back balance to your body, mind and spirit.
I find it fascinating how Reflexology stimulates the body into healing itself. Symptoms are only evidence of energy imbalance going on beneath the surface.
I learned to appreciate that our body is our greatest ally and is constantly trying to communicate with us.

Foot Reflexology
This divine treatment reduces stress and induces deep relaxation.
Reflexology works on the premise that parts of the feet mirror areas in the body. By applying a gentle pressure on these reflex points, we stimulate a healing response in the targeted organ or system of the body.

Frequently asked questions
If provided by a qualified therapist, Reflexology is considered to be safe and highly effective form of complimentary medicine.
I am a member of Association of Reflexologists and hold nationally recognized qualification, fully insured and committed to continuing my professional development.
The Association of Reflexologists recommends the treatment should be avoided if client suffers with the following:
- any contagious skin disease
- psoriasis, eczema or athlete’s foot
- history of unstable pregnancies
- patients with foot fractures, unhealed wounds or those with vascular disease of the legs or feet [DVT]
Please, consult with your GP prior to booking a treatment. Why not try facial reflexology instead?
Other contraindications include first trimester, clients under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those who had COVID-19 vaccine in the last 3 days.
I use gentle Reflexology technique so it is not painful to the client. Most people fall asleep. Reflexology should not hurt. There may be few tender spots which usually indicate an imbalance or blockage in the corresponding area.
The appointment starts with a consultation. Medical history will be taken to find out more about the client and what is their reason for reflexology.
Treatment plan will be customised to address client’s needs. You will be seated in relaxing zero gravity chair or on a massage bed if doing facial Reflexology. Your feet will be elevated and pampered so you can leave the outside world behind.
I perform Reflexology on feet or face and only the shoes and socks need to be removed.
Increased thirst, feeling sleepy or very relaxed, frequent toilet visits, headache, feeling emotional [Reflexology works both on emotional and physical level], irritability. All these healing reactions should disappear within 24 – 48 hours.
Reflexology is a very powerful way to detoxify the body. To maximise the benefits from your treatment it is recommended that for the next 24 hours after the treatment you avoid the following: caffeine, smoking, alcohol, heavy meals, sauna or steam room. If the time allows, the client should take it easy for the rest of the day after the treatment and drink plenty of water.
